Our purpose at Bethel is to introduce people to the way of God as taught through Jesus Christ. We encourage people to grow in their love of God and others. We have various programs that help us grow in our understanding of ourselves and our relationships with others.
Melinda Lowry is our Children and Youth Minister. Bethel offers meaningful and fun experiences for its children and youth. We offer a separate service during morning worship for children ages 5 through 5th grade where they learn about God's love and His Son, Jesus, through stories, singing, crafts and games. Middle and high school youth meet outside of church service weekly for refreshments, Bible study, service projects, activities, and excursions to learn about the love of God and how to share that love with those around them.
Each year we host Vacation Bible School for all children and youth.
We offer multiple Sunday school classes. These range from nursery school to senior citizens' classes. We meet Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. We invite you to come and learn more about Christ and the role He plays in your life.
The Sudie Miner Circle is part of the state, national and international American Baptist Women's Ministries that is dedicated to supporting missions. Our group of ladies meets monthly to learn about, pray for, and financially support American Baptist missionaries, special projects, and local charities. The Sudie Miner Circle is named after a now deceased member of our church who was a strong advocate for missions. The international mission statement is: "In commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and to the mission of the church, and through the enabling of the Holy Spirit, American Baptist Women's Ministries provides opportunities for each woman and girl to become and develop as God's person; build God's faith community; serve God's world." Please contact President Patty Short for more information.
AB Girls is about building relationships, becoming leaders, and reaching out to others in Jesus' name. AB Girls also supports girls and young women as they grow in their relationship with Jesus. AB Girls helps them explore stories in the Bible for guidance, and gives them a safe place to talk about their questions of faith. Bethel's group meets monthly for a meal, meeting, and activities. Contact Beth Fleenor and Shannon Allen for information.
