Are you new to Bethel? We're so glad you are here! Here's what to expect:
We have Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. Service lasts one hour. For Easter, we enjoy sunrise service at 2450 North New Salem Finley Knob Road, just up the road from the church. Maundy Thursday service is at 7 p.m. on the Thursday prior to Easter. Ash Wednesday service is at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve candlelight service is at 9 p.m. If you are unable to visit with us in person, we invite you to watch us live on Facebook (all videos are also available to watch at any time that is convenient to you)!
We provide a nursery for your young ones! Children in elementary school will stay in the sanctuary during worship service until Children's Time, after which they will go downstairs for youth activities. Middle and high school students are encouraged to participate in the full worship service, and are often involved in service, such as reading Scripture, collecting the offering, and greeting visitors.
Yes. Communion is given on the first Sunday of every quarter (first Sunday in March, June, September and December), as well as on Maundy Thursday (Thursday prior to Easter).
We have so many ways for you to join us! From helping with youth activities, preparing and serving food for celebrations and home-bound members, teaching Sunday School classes and so much more! Tell us your talents and interests, and we can help find a way that God can use you at Bethel Baptist Church!
There is no dress code at church, so feel free to wear whatever is comfortable for you! You will see people dressed in every type of clothing - we don't care what you wear, only that you are here!
Gifts and tithes are a personal decision. We will pass an offering basket, and you are welcome to give if you would like to, but it is not expected nor required.
We start off our service with announcements about upcoming events, such as birthdays and anniversaries, special events, etc. We will sing a couple songs from a hymn book. Our pastor will share prayer concerns, which can also be found in our church bulletin. We take an offering. Sometimes we have a guest singer or band. Young children are invited to come to the front of the church for Children's Time. Then our pastor shares a sermon before giving the final blessing and dismissal. We hope you find that coming to Bethel feels like being with a loving family!
